David Carroll specializes in wealth transfer life insurance and the design, implementation, and monitoring of large life insurance portfolios.  His clients are senior executives and shareholders of private and publicly held companies, prominent families with inherited wealth, and several are Forbes 400 families.

David has roughly 20 years of experience specializing in advising high net worth families in the area of estate planning and generational wealth transfer strategies.  Before joining Financial Architects Partners, he was with another national firm working with ultra affluent clients and their advisors.  He began his career at John Hancock Life Insurance Company where he spent more than 10 years focused on life company investments, systems, and insurance distribution.

David is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and has formerly served on the Council's Speakers Bureau. He has been a national conference presenter for both the M Financial Group and National Financial Partners on a variety of industry related topics. Additionally, he has been a speaker at the Boston Bar Association Brown Bag lunch series and Boston University Law School's Taxation Program. He is also the former Chairman of the Board for the West Suburban YMCA in Newton, Massachusetts, and previously served on its Board of Directors. David splits time between homes in Palo Alto, CA and Narragansett, RI with his wife and four children.

Dave Freeley began his career at Sun Life of Canada's US Headquarters, where over a five year period he held positions in product development, marketing and the advanced sales planning group. After leaving Sun Life, Dave was a member of the M Financial Group, planning exclusively for high net worth families.

Dave left the M Group to start and run a very successful private client group for a national executive benefits firm. Dave ultimately spun that group out and merged it with David Carroll's practice to form Financial Architects Partners; by doing so, he created one of the largest firms of its kind in the United States.

Dave is on the Board of Overseers at Brigham & Women's Hospital. He is also a past trustee of the Catholic School Foundation in Boston and is active in many charities. Dave lives with his twins in Norwell, MA.

Jeff Ostrum is the Managing Principal of the FAP West Coast operation based in Palo Alto. He relocated from the Boston office in 2006, and now he and his team actively manage large life insurance portfolios for approximately 100 families.  Jeff is often referred to families by their estate planning attorneys, family offices, tax planners, and wealth managers who seek to optimize the performance of life insurance as a planning tool and/or asset class.

 

He often presents at national industry events and is routinely engaged by other life insurance professionals to manage their most complex client matters. He has presented multiple times at the Jerry A. Kasner Estate Planning Symposium and the Annual Meeting of the CA Tax Bar and CA Tax Policy Conference.

 

Prior to joining FAP in 2002, Jeff managed Sales teams for three national technology companies where he was responsible for New York, Chicago, New England, Mid Atlantic, and Bay Area markets.

Jeff is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, and a member of the San Francisco Estate Planning Council.  Outside of FAP, he avidly follows his son's football and basketball teams in Los Gatos, and runs, skis, and mountain bikes. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the San Francisco Foundation and Project Cornerstone of Silicon Valley (YMCA) and is a proud supporter of the Melanoma Program (and SUNSPORT) at the Stanford Cancer Center.  A long time ago (1992) Jeff completed a cross country bicycle trip from San Francisco to Washington D.C., covering 3,800 miles in 35 days.

Brigette DiNicola specializes in developing and maintaining effective processes across the firm. She monitors the content and quality of FAP deliverables, continuously adapting our procedures to address the changing needs of both clients and carriers.

Brigette started out in Sports Marketing and Promotions for the University of Virginia. She began her insurance career in 1998 at Winged Keel Group in New York, NY. In 2004, she left her position there as Manager of Implementation and Client Relations for institutional disability and life insurance plans and joined Financial Architects Partners' Boston office.

While Director of New Business at FAP, Brigette developed a comprehensive suite of systems to accelerate and differentiate our underwriting process. These tools promote training and efficiency, allowing us to seamlessly scale the department to accommodate increased demand. Furthermore, they are flexible and can be easily adapted to incorporate improvements.

Brigette created the Business Administration Department in 2007, hiring and training a team of administrative professionals to support our executives and our office operations. Now known as Sales and Marketing Operations, the department is unique in the industry, both for its size and the scope of its responsibilities. This team drives our unparalleled reporting and marketing analysis via deliberate, consistent document retention and data organization procedures.

Brigette holds life and health insurance licenses, as well as Series 6 Investment Company Products / Variable Contracts Limited Representative and Series 63 NASAA Uniform Securities Agent State Law licenses. She maintains Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations and is a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU).

Tracy Fitzsimmons specializes in the design and implementation of large life insurance portfolios. He has an extensive background in advanced marketing and financial analysis and applies this experience to develop many of the firm's innovative planning designs and proprietary analysis tools.  

Tracy works closely with the producers, advisors, and FAP clients to develop insurance planning models that can help maximize wealth preservation and overall portfolio performance. His unique blend of writing and analytical skills allows him to communicate complex estate planning concepts in a simple and concise manner.

Tracy has over 20 years of experience in life insurance, case design, and portfolio evaluation and has been a frequent speaker at many national industry events. Prior to joining FAP in 2002, he was a consultant in John Hancock's M Marketing Group in Boston and also Director of Case Design at Lander & Associates in Newton, Massachusetts.

Tracy holds his Life Insurance license as well as the FINRA Series 6 Investment Company Products / Variable Contracts Limited Representative and Series 63 NASAA Uniform Securities Agent State Law licenses.  Tracy is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting. John Gilmartin joined the firm in 2000 as Director of Design & Marketing. He was responsible for developing our proprietary administration platform, AdminPro™, and supporting the development of a marketing presence in Boston. John has been involved with many of the tools, processes, and procedures that promote an efficient organization while upholding the highest best practice standards. In 2005, John transitioned into his current role of Principal. He now manages the firm's daily operations while facilitating the strategic plans of the management team. He works closely with the other principals and department heads of FAP to oversee workflow and process, managing the efficiency and scale of our business.

Additionally, John is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the nation's top tier carriers, ensuring that they understand our unique business model and the clients that we represent.

Prior to joining Financial Architects Partners, John spent seven years with John Hancock in their Systems, Marketing, and Software Distribution departments. John holds the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from The American College.

John resides in South Boston with his wife and two children.

Keith has been active as an advisor to corporations and wealthy individuals for over 30 years. As a certified public accountant, he practiced at Arthur Young & Co. in Los Angeles (now Ernst & Young). In 1986 Keith began consulting in the area of executive benefits for Merrill Lynch. He and his partners bought their practice a few years later when he co-founded an international executive compensation, benefit and corporate insurance practice. As Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner, Keith specialized in providing services to public companies throughout the country.

In 1999, Keith had the opportunity to sell his company and spend more time raising his family. Soon restless, he continued his passion of advising owners, top management and Trusts in the areas of executive compensation, insurance, management consulting, board composition and other corporate and Trust matters.

 

Through a fortuitous due diligence engagement for a large corporate executive life insurance plan, Keith met David Carroll and David Freeley while researching FAP. Impressed with FAP's standing in their profession, its process, resources and professionalism, he accepted a position as Managing Director in 2012.

 

Keith is member of the Pepperdine University Board of Visitors and is active in various charities and in civic matters in La Cañada Flintridge, California, where he and his wife Tracy raised their three children and currently reside.

Rick Worrell is a Principal of Financial Architects Partners based in Providence, Rhode Island. He practiced law for 7 years and was a tax consultant with KPMG prior to entering the field of Life Insurance and Retirement planning. Rick's extensive legal accomplishments and considerable consulting experience make him an asset in his role of developing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective clients.

Rick has always been active in Rhode Island public life and is a former member of the American and Rhode Island Bar Associations. He was elected to the Providence City Council where he served 6 years until he was appointed Chairman of the Providence Bureau of Licenses. He is currently a trustee of the Conservation Law Foundation and a member of the Advisory Board of Common Cause of Rhode Island. Rick also serves as a Commissioner of the Rhode Island Narragansett Bay Commission. In addition to all of this, Rick has also authored several articles on pension and profit sharing plans.
